Getting Ready for Europe

This last week I managed to get my room reservations made and my international currency ordered for our upcoming trip to Europe. Erika is singing with the Wyoming Ambassador's of Music tour. I am fortunate enough to be able to go as a spectator! I have been so busy with work and the last minute end of the year projects that it has been difficult to find the time. It did seem that it was a long time off, but this weekend's rehearsal brought the message home that we leave in about three weeks! I am looking forward to the trip. One of my preparations was to purchase a netbook. I got an Acer Aspire for $256 at Sam's Club. I'm delighted with it so far!

Microsoft's View on Technology in 2019

A group of us have been talking about technology standards, and after looking at standards implemented from other states, we have started the process of assembling a document with what we feel are the best parts of each.

It is difficult to write standards that will be relevant for at least as long as the payments on a new car...technology changes so fast and it's hard to know what the future will look like. Here is a video of what Microsoft thinks 2019 looks like. This info is thanks to Tim Leonhardt, who I follow on Twitter.
